The engagement
Challenge
Meridian’s core network could not carry the traffic 5G would generate, and the licensing window gave them eighteen months to demonstrate coverage or forfeit spectrum. A full core replacement would take three years.
Approach
We planned a phased rollout that met the licence obligations with a hybrid architecture — new radio access on the existing core where it could carry the load, with core replacement running behind it rather than blocking it.
